Hubbardton Accidental Death

VICTIM:     Clifford R. Jones                                                               

AGE:      66 years old from Rutland, VT




                On July 23, 2016 the victim had rented a camp off the north end of Lake Bomoseen in Hubbardton, VT.  At approximately 1645 hrs. a quick sever storm struck this area of Lake Bomoseen.  After retrieving two fishing poles from a lake side dock, the victim was struck by a large dead tree.  Due to the sever wind, the dead tree broke at its base falling on the victim.  Family and friends removed the tree and started life saving measure without success.  This case is pending the results of an autopsy.  No further information is available at this time.
