FW: Burglaries in Orleans County area

Vermont State Police in Derby have seen a recent significant increase in burglaries in the Orleans County area.    Towns that have been targeted by burglaries include, Westfield, Jay, Irasburg,  Craftsbury, Albany ,  and Troy.    Vermont State Police are reminding people to be vigilant   and report suspicious activity.    If given the opportunity if the public could get plate  numbers and descriptions of vehicles or subjects.   Vermont State Police and local law enforcement are actively pursuing leads and investigating these crimes.   Anyone with any information is asked to call Vermont State Police Derby to assist with these investigations.       It is also recommended that the public lock your doors to assist in preventing easy access to your homes.    Measures that the public can take to assist law enforcement in helping recovering your items is to record serial numbers or put identifying marks on your items that only you would know about.     Any information on these burglaries can be reported to Vermont State Police at 334-8881.
