SUMMARY OF CRASH: On June 7, 2016 Vermont State Police - Williston responded to a report on a motor vehicle crash where a power pole and lines were down across Main Road, Huntington, by the Autobahn. Upon arrival, troopers located the vehicle involved, a 2013 freight box truck, off the roadway and a Green Mountain Power Pole lying across the roadway blocking the flow of traffic. Investigation determined the operator of the truck had left the travel portion of the roadway as he was distracted by papers in his cab. The truck struck and broke the power pole.

Huntington Fire Department responded to maintain scene safety and Richmond Police Department assisted with traffic control. As of the time of this release, traffic is still being detoured as Green Mountain Power is repairing the pole.

The operator of the truck, 61-year-old Philippe Morin, was issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for his leaving the travel portion of the roadway.
