SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On June 20, 2016 at approximately 2300 hours, Trooper from the Vermont State Police, Rutland Barracks responded to the report of a vehicle stuck in a private driveway on East Street in the Town of Clarendon. The caller reported the operator seemed intoxicated.
Upon arrival, Troopers identified the operator as Kari A. Williams. Investigation revealed Williams traveled from an unknown location, along a public highway and became stuck in the caller’s driveway, a short distance from East Street. Williams displayed signs of impairment and was found to have a criminally suspended driver’s license due to a prior conviction for DUI. Williams refused to provide a preliminary sample of her breath and was taken into custody for DUI. Williams was transported to the Vermont State Police Barracks in Rutland Town where she was processed for DUI and later released to a sober party. She was cited to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division on July 11, 2016 at 0830 hours to answer to the charge of Driving under the influence and Operation after suspension of license.
