SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 06/07/2016, at approximately 2318 hours, VSP Middlesex received a report of a vehicle that crashed into a house located at 896 US Route 2 in Middlesex, VT. Upon arrival, the single occupant and operator was identified as David Burnell. It was determined that Burnell was traveling north on VT Route 100B and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with US Route 2. Burnell's vehicle crossed US Route 2 without stopping, traveled a short distance through a lawn before striking the front wall of the house located at 896 US Route 2 and coming to rest. The homeowners were inside at the time of the crash but were not injured.

During the investigation into the cause of the crash, Troopers determined that Burnell was under the influence of alcohol. He provided a PBT of .152%.
