On June 20, 2016 at 13:30, the Vermont State Police received a report of a male riding a John Deere lawnmower down the travel portion of VT RT 116 in the town of Bristol.  Troopers responded to the area and located Claude Spaulding, 67 of Bristol, VT driving on Lower Notch Road.  During a traffic stop troopers noted signs of impairment and screened Spaulding for DUI.  Spaulding was taken into custody  and processed for DUI-Drugs at the New Haven Barracks.
