SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 06/01/16 at approximately 2040 hours Vermont State Police responded to a reported UTV crash on West Sandgate Road in Sandgate. Upon arrival an overturned UTV was discovered in the grass off the roadway. An investigation ensued and it was discovered through witness statements that Brett Weber had been operating the UTV at the time of the crash.

Several jewelry items were located at the crash scene which were later discovered to have been stolen by Weber from a nearby residence where he also fired three shots from a rifle inside the home. It was also discovered that Weber had stolen the UTV from a nearby farm along with numerous other tools. Weber is facing numerous charges with more pending further investigation. He was charged with DUI, DLS, LSA, Negligent Operation, Burglary X2, Grand Larceny X2, Assault on an LEO, Unlawful Mischief X2 and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm X3. Weber was released on conditions and is to appear in Bennington Court on 06/06/16 to answer to the charges.
