SUMMARY OF CRASH:

VSP Williston Troopers along with members of the Bolton Fire Department responded to a single vehicle crash on I89 SB in the area of MM 72 in the town of Bolton, VT.  Upon arriving on scene and speaking with Op. #1 (Ndibalema), he advised while traveling SB the vehicle seemed to lose control which caused the vehicle to swerve to the right then back to the left.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Veh. #1 left the SB travel lane and collided with the metal guardrail, lining the western side of the road.  Veh. #1 then crossing back over both SB lanes of travel and then exiting off the eastern side of the roadway.  Veh. #1 collided head on with a large rock ledge before coming to rest in the center median.

A passenger side (suspension) failure appears to be the cause of the collision. While the vehicle appeared to be a total loss, Ndibalema was reportedly wearing his seatbelt and uninjured in the crash.

I89 SB was reduced to one lane while crews removed the vehicle but no traffic delays were noted.
