On May 06th   2016, at approximately 22:06 hours, members of the Vermont State

Police from the Rutland Barracks were advised that an unknown male attempted to rob the Sunoco Service Station located at 278 US Route 7 in  the Town of Rutland.    


Troopers arrived on scene and spoke with the on duty store clerk, John Geroni.  Geroni stated a unknown male wearing dark clothing entered the store and told Geroni to give him the money in the cash register. Geroni advised when he refused to give the subject money the male asked him for a carton of cigarettes.  The male subject then fled the store without any merchandise.    It could not be determined if the male had a weapon during the altercation. 


Troopers conducted a K-9 track from the scene and were unable to locate the male subject.
