SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 5-2-16, Vermont State Police in Middlesex responded to a single vehicle collision on Interstate 89, near Mile Marker 54 in Middlesex, Vermont.  Initial investigation showed that Gumbrell was traveling southbound when her vehicle hydroplaned. Due to this, she left the western travel portion of the roadway and struck a ledge head on. As a result of this, Gumbrell’s vehicle caught fire. Gumbrell was subsequently checked on scene by Rescue Personnel and released with a minor shin injury. The car fire was extinguished by Fire Personnel on scene. Traffic was reduced to one lane while State Police and Rescue Personnel dealt with the collision.
