SUMMARY OF CRASH: On 05/05/16 at approximately 1902 hours VSP Williston received an E 911 call about a single vehicle crash northbound on Interstate 89 near mile marker 97 in the Town of Colchester. Per the E 911 caller, this crash also involved a boat trailer.
Upon arrival investigation revealed that Hack was traveling southbound on Interstate 89 when his boat trailer, hauling an approximate 26 foot vessel, hit
the guardrails on the right side of the roadway causing him to lose control of his vehicle. Hack's vehicle crossed both travel lanes on the southbound side, traveled through the grass median and came to an uncontrolled rest in the left lane on the northbound side of the Interstate. Hack's vessel detached during this initial impact and came to an uncontrolled rest in the median approximately 192 feet south of his vehicle.
Interstate 89 northbound was partially closed for approximately 2.5 hours while this incident was cleaned up and all debris was removed from the area.
