SUMMARY OF CRASH:
On the above date and time, members of the Vermont State Police and Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department, responded to Creek Road, approximately 1 mile south of Walker Mountain Road, in Clarendon, Vermont to a report of a single vehicle crash into a telephone pole with no injuries.
Upon arriving on scene, the vehicle was found without the operator, and a telephone pole which had been seared in half, resting on top of the vehicle.
A witness who called 911 observed a single male operator get out of the vehicle and was then picked up by an unknown party and left the scene. While on scene state police dispatch were contacted by Justin Canales (32) who advised he was at his residence and had been driving the vehicle. State Police met with Canales at his residence and verified he did not require medical attention.
The crash was caused due to the vehicle leaving the lane of traffic. A contributing factor to the crash was determined to be the operator was traveling too fast for conditions.
