SUMMARY OF CRASH:
Vermont State Police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the parking lot directly in front of Dollar General. There is a sidewalk that runs the entire length of the market place directly in front of the stores. The parking lot is paved and consists of an access road that runs parallel to the sidewalk and allows drivers to enter vertical aisles containing the individual parking spaces.
Operator 1 travelled down the aisle directly in front of the Dollar General and stopped. Operator 1 indented to turn left onto the access road and exit the parking lot. As Operator 1 began the turn Raasch started to cross the access road from the sidewalk and was struck. The collision knocked Raasch to the ground. She complained of head and leg pain and was transported to Gifford Medical Center by White River Valley Ambulance.
